In which cases a nautical licence is mandatory?
To operate a vessel or boat beyond six miles from the coast.
To water ski, regardless of the engine power of the towing vessel.
To operate a personal watercraft.
If the vessel’s engine has a power output greater than 40.8 hp (30 kW) or a displacement greater than 2,000 cc if diesel, or 750 cc if the engine is a two-stroke outboard.
Not all European countries issue a Boating License. In Italy, it is mandatory.
